Mary Kay is a cosmetics & skincare company that was started back in Dallas, USA in 1963 by Mary Kay Ash. Mary Kay has been in New Zealand for over 25 years.
In June 2015 I was invited to a Mary Kay pamper party by a friend. I had never heard of Mary Kay before, but I liked Tupperware parties so I thought I could just go and eat cake and hang out with my friends (adult time away from the kids). That night we got to do a foot spa and facial, so I bought a cleanser and day solution with a spf30. I’m always on the look out for a decent facial sunblock that doesn’t make you sweat buckets before you even get out of the house in the morning.
I’ve always loved the idea of makeup. I wasn’t particularly good at it, but I liked it. I love face painting so started watching tutorials about face painting and then make up ones. My favourites to watch are Nikkie tutorials, Lisa Elderidge on YouTube. One of my makeup inspirations is Adele and one day I would love to be able to do the perfect winged eye like she has. So her kiwi make up artist Michael Ashton has got to me my makeup hero right now. Flawless foundation & glowy skin, that you don’t need to hide behind and a fierce winged eye are now my goals.
Fast forward 6 months and now I’m a fully fledged Mary Kay consultant.
